Really incredible meal at Xiao Ye. First Generation American is the perfect description of this type of food. It reminded me of meals from childhood from multiple restaurants all rolled into one. There were Thai dishes, French dishes, and Indian dishes across the courses and it all worked wonderfully. The fresh pasta course and Napa cabbage salad were some stand outs, but ever dish was don perfectly. Cocktail program is also strong here. We were a party of 5 so we got to try them all. A must repeat dinner!

Wow, we couldn't have been happier with our meal and the service! I credible madeleines and beef carpaccio to start, then the Napa Cabbage wedge salad followed by a Thai curry pasta and a pork ragu pasta. Trio of homemade ice cream and sorbet to finish. The service was super friendly and happy to share their recommendations for other places to eat and drink in Portland. Great personal touch. Excellent cocktails to boot! 12/10

xiao ye is one of my new fav spots for sure! the food is so thoughtful and delicious. whatever you do, absolutely do not skip the madeleines or the pastas or the gelatos! we went for their valentines specials and they had a vodka pasta and chocolate torte on the menu, as well as their dumplings for dumpling week. i’m so sad the dumplings are a limited run because they’re some of the best i’ve ever had, too! definitely will be back to keep trying their ever-changing menu!

Cannot recommend enough. Truly one of Portland’s best restaurants, with fine dining quality and zero pretentiousness. The space is beautiful, the menu is original (I’ve loved everything I’ve tried), cocktails are delicious, and you can tell the team infuses care and hospitality into every aspect of the experience. There are also tasty non-alcoholic drinks and teas, and the waitstaff are always helpful in pointing out which dishes can be modified to suit different dietary needs. I do recommend making a reservation for busier night, or trying their once-a-month burger special (different every time).

This town has a problem with service... So many grumpy servers. That's not the case here. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Every bite delicious. They were excessively helpful for my gf spouse. Pro tip... They can get busy, but Monday nights you can likely get a seat pretty easily

This was such a delightful dinner. The staff was so friendly. In fact, the owner took several minutes to chat with us. I am quite literally still thinking about the chicken curry pasta. A stunning meal start to finish!

Very good, very interesting food! I second not skipping the madeleines or pastas or gelatos, all were terrific. Cucumbers/turnips with barley miso, charred cabbage, & head-on shrimp were also highlights. Ordered 12 things incl. dessert trio @ 95 a person with tip - not bad at all for the quality & variety. I wouldn't do the 70 big plates without at least 2 people to share them with, personally; that's a lot when I don't know how amazing it'll be. Half-portions @ half the price would make me more likely to order one or both, just saying Looking forward to coming back & trying new stuff :-)

The food here is very good. It's a fusion of European cooking with Asian flavors, but overall everything was relatively simple and just delicious. They have a good wine selection. The service here is really exceptional, some of the best service I've had in a while. The staff is so on point it really elevates the experience. It's certainly not cheap, but for the quality of food and wine that you get, its reasonable compared to other places that are on par. This place is fancy, but better suited for groups or families than other places that are more uptight.
